*Carrying On The Glory*
Horse: Dreaming of Glory
Rider: Chloe Paisley
DRS had their Triple Crown contender for the year. Glory had the lines, the looks, the speed, and the muscle of a great TC contender. He would put up quite the punch. He had a recent win in the Indiana Derby a couple weeks ago. The week off did him some good. He was in incredible shape and top form. He would be entered into his next race, pending his re-registration. Lucy couldn't wait to get him back out on that racetrack. He was divine.
Glory had settled into the DRS routine fairly well. He was threatened to be taken away from Lucy, but she wouldn't have it. She needed to keep him in her barn. He seemed to be incredibly happy to be back. Lucy and Chloe had gotten him groomed and tacked. Then, Chloe mounted and Lucy lead them to the dirt course. Glory pranced quietly beside Lucy. Chloe was perched high in the saddle. The cold air pierced at them, but it didn't affect the chestnut colt at all. He was wired. Nothing could affect him.
The dirt track came into their sights. Glory threw his head up and whinnied gloriously. Chloe smiled and clucked him to a canter. He felt free, again. His spirited side came out. He wasn't as relaxed as he was in his last work. He was flighty and ready to run. He was still high off of his win. He wanted to win, again and again. He wanted to keep on winning. He never disappointed.
Chloe took him around the track. She would only be taking him 5 furlongs this time. It would really test his speed. He was incredible with his breeze sprints. When she gave him the rein he was off. He tried to pull away from her, but she didn't hesitate. Glory kept his ground as he thundered around the turn and headed into the stretch. His strides lengthened, speed increased, and his heart pounded faster as he pushed himself down the lane. Chloe hand rode him to the finish. He thrashed his way to the wire.
Once the workout was finished, Chloe cooled him out and rode him back to the barns. He was in tip top shape. He was ready for anything. He was progressing each time he set out on that track. He would flourish.
