*On With Glory*
Horse: Dreaming of Glory
Rider: Lucy McCummins
For: Wood Memorial Stakes
Lucy wanted to get the chance to ride her mega colt. She had groomed and tacked him by herself. She wanted him to get a good work in before his big race. He would be trailered to the GHF barns in the afternoon. She had been running him every two weeks. She wanted to keep him in top form. He was a magnificent colt. He was showing great promise for the Triple Crown. Winner of two races, so far, this season, he was going to be a favorite going into the TC races.
Lucy trotted him onto the dirt course. He pranced along at a beautiful stride. He snorted into the air. The surroundings were quiet. He kept calm and relaxed. She gave him the needed rein to keep him at a comfortable pace. He was in the best form a three year old could ever be. She would most certainly rest him for a couple months after the TC races had run. She sat quietly in the saddle. She enjoyed this colt, so much. She couldn't bare to lose him. He had to be the top horse in the barn.
Glory extended his trot out as she turned him towards the inside rail. He lifted his head high as she gathered the reins. Once she set him free, he bounded forward. His gallop was intense as he flew around the turn. The stretch came quick. The colt was on fire. He dashed down the stretch. He let nothing stand in his way. His nostrils flared, hooves thundered, and his heart grew as he came down to the finish. He was an amazing colt. He was quick on his feet and knew what he needed to do.
Glory would blow them all away. He would be a top contender for the TC races. He would certainly put DRS on the map.
