*Aboard The Flight*
Horse: Flight To Fight
Rider: Connor Stewart
The filly was fierce. Rumors stated she was dangerous and should've been put down when given the chance. It was a great choice that Lucy chose Connor for her rider. Lucy wasn't able to get near her. She bit her the first day she came to DRS. Once Connor took her lead, the filly calmed down in an instant. Lucy knew then that they were the perfect match. Connor had to do everything with Faith. It was the only way she would remain calm. As long as she was there, she could stand being around others.
Faith was standing tall and pretty as Connor groomed her, one brisk morning. Lucy entered the barn as he was going to get his tack. Once he disappeared into the tack room, Faith turned her head to the side. She could sense someone else was there. She stomped a hoof and let out a loud snort. "I don't think so. You're just fine." Connor said, coming back with his tack. Lucy was finally able to approach the filly. Faith nudged her hip with her nose and nickered softly. Lucy giggled. "I just don't get it. What is it with you and her? She's a devil in disguise. She's a demon when you're not around, but an angel when you are." she said.
Depending on how Faith performed these next few months, Lucy was planning on retiring her. She would give Faith a lay off in April. Whether she would be retired then or not depended on how she performed the next few months. Lucy was afraid she could do something serious to a horse in a race. She was known to nip and bite during races. It was a reason why the demon didn't have a huge amount of starts for a four year old. She was a fierce competitor and never let anyone stand in her way.
Once tacked, Connor mounted and ride Faith out to the turf course. Lucy followed behind them. Faith was relaxed and collected. She let out a snort as they neared the track. Connor urged her to a trot and rode her through the opening and onto the turf course. She drove into a solid canter. Connor made sure he kept a hold of her. She could go from angel to devil in just seconds. Connor liked her a lot. He really grew a bond with her, as he had with some of the others. Faith really liked him, as well. She was a princess when he was around.
Five furlongs was all he would take her. He brought her up to a canter when they headed around the first turn. The backstretch was ahead of them. He gave the signal and she shot off like the speed of light. Faith darted around the final turn. She was full of fearlessness and determination. Down the stretch they went. Her strides elongated. She blazed down the stretch. She pulled on to the wire. Connor was fully impressed with this mega horse. Yes, she was a demonic devil, but she had the potential to have a great season. He was looking forward to every race they would be entered in.
