*Ignite The Fire*
Horse: Ignite
Rider: Ariel Paisley
Lucy lead Ash out of his paddock. Ariel was in the barn waiting for them. She gave Ash a brief pat on the rump as Lucy him by her. He was looking good. He just raced a couple weeks ago. He hadn't been training since. Lucy wanted to be him a week's rest. It did him some good, but he was ready to stake his claim out on the track. He wanted to get his name known. Lucy and Ariel groomed the black stallion to perfection. Then, they helped each other with tacking him up. It was going to be a small, quick workout. Lucy wanted Ariel to take him just four furlongs. It was enough to stretch his legs.
Ash loved being out on the track. He anxiously stomped a hoof as they continued with tacking him. He always got pumped up when he knew he would soon be heading out onto the track. He was a fireball. He was ready for anything. He was an incredible racehorse. He would make a great stud, someday. Lucy was planning on running him another year or two. She wanted him to have high experience before she retired him to stud.
Once tacked, Lucy lead Ash and Ariel out to the turf course. He danced sideways, getting more anxious with each second. He blood was pumping, his heart pounding. He lived for this. The track was his home and hitting the wire first was his destiny. He was getting highly excited. Ariel kept a strong hold on him. She knew what he was capable of. She understood his passion for the track. She shared the same passion. She loved being out there. She loved the freedom she felt being on the back of a horse and being out on the track from early morning to late at night.
Lucy let them go out on their own. Ash pranced onto the track with high spirit. Ariel ran her fingers through his thick mane. The War Admiral Stakes was his next race. He would flourish in it. Ariel was sure of it. She urged him up to a brisk jog as they headed along the outside rail. She wanted to give him a quick warm up before they did the four furlongs. He responded to each command and every cue she gave. He was a big pleaser. He would do whatever was asked of him. Ariel was the only one who could ride him. He was a one rider horse.
Once Ariel gave signal, Ash darted forward into a strong gallop. He held back early. They dashed around the turn and into the stretch. Then, he pushed on, extending his small stride. He flew down the track. He pulled on willingly. Ariel hand drove him down to the wire. It was a fast work. Lucy and Ariel were both impressed with his run. He had a good thing coming.
