*The Sprinting King*
Horse: Ignite
Rider: Ariel Paisley
For: Spring Cup - Grade Four Turf Sprint
Ash would be running in the Grade Four Turf Sprint in the Spring Cup series at Green Horse Fields. He had gotten a couple weeks off from racing and training. Lucy wanted to give him the time to rest. Ariel had arrived earlier in the morning. She took the time to groom the black stallion to perfection. Once tacked, she mounted and lead him out to the turf course.
The sun was shining bright. Ariel loved sunny days, even though it was bitterly cold. Ash kept her on her toes. He was incredibly excited to be getting back into action. He was well rested and in great shape. He was expected to have a good run in the sprint race. He was a sprinting king. He was an exceptional closer. He saved all his energy just to flourish in his stretch runs. He rarely disappointed.
Ariel jogged Ash around the track. He held his head high and he flared his nostrils as a group of birds took to the sky ahead of him. It didn't startle him at all. He wasn't a spooky horse. He could bear anything. He relaxed fairly well. Once Ariel took him onto the inside rail, he got pumped up knowing he would soon be able to get his legs stretched. He was ready for anything. Ariel had grown slightly fond of him. He was a great horse to be around.
Soon she gave him the rein and he bounded ahead. He was off like there was no tomorrow. His strides lengthened more and more as they headed around the turn. The whip was flashed as they headed into the stretch. He pushed on with great power. Ariel just let him go do his thing. He was nonstop. She was impressed with this run. He had a ton of heart. They dashed down the stretch, inching closer and closer to the wire. They flew past the wire in high fashion.
Ariel pulled him up and gave him a stroke of appreciation on the neck. She was satisfied with his run. He was a great horse with some good speed.
