*Marv Is Here*
Horse: Lady Marvel
Rider: Spencer Thornton
It was Spencer's first work at DRS. It was on Lucy's newest horse, Lady Marvel. Marv never got the chance to run her two year old season due to many medical problems along the way. She was, now, in the best shape she could ever be. Lucy was impressed by the filly. She knew she was something special and just had to have her.
Spencer rode Marv to the dirt track, with Lucy and Darby walking behind them. Marv had her head high and her nostrils flared. She was ready to show them what she was made of. This was her time to shine. She was a vibrant looking horse. She was fresh and ready to go. The dirt was soft on her feet when Spencer cantered her onto the track. The filly settled perfectly. She bowed her head and kept her eyes pinned ahead. Spencer was slim and light in the saddle.
They made their way around the track, cantering along. Spencer soon gave the signal and Marv burst into a quick breeze. Her short legs covered a lot of ground at once. She was a firecracker. They rounded the turn diligently. Marv was all business. Her love was racing. She could run for days and never tire. She didn't even flinch when Spencer got the whip out, which wasn't really needed. She only used it a couple times. Then, she hand rode the chestnut filly down to the wire.
Marv had a great run. Lucy was impressed with her looks on and off the track. She had a feeling Marv would fly through the rankings. She was another incredible racehorse. She had speed to burn and a lot of heart. She was strong and fearless.
