*Heart of Soul*
Horse: Heart of Rio
Rider: Ariel Paisley
Rio had yet to get a win in for the season. She hadn't won in over a year. It was time to get her back on track and into shape. Lucy had her pointed towards the Triple Tiara. She had many compliments on what a great, strong horse she was. She was incredibly talented and her lineage really put her on the map. She was the daughter of two well-known horses and a grand-daughter of a racing and breeding champion. She would become a champion in her own right.
Ariel rode the filly out onto the dirt track one morning. Rio was eager to run. She bounded along at a fancy pace. Ariel could do nothing but smile and let her have fun. Rio still had a lot of growing up to do. She was one of the ones Lucy was planning on running till she reached Grade One status. She had incredible bloodlines. She would most certainly make a winner out of herself. She was a determined young filly with a strong racing heart. She had what it took to become a champion on the track.
Rio responded promptly to Ariel's cue. She was off like a firecracker, leaping down and around the turn. She didn't even break a sweat as she pushed into the stretch. Ariel flashed the whip all over, keeping the filly at her quick pace. She wanted to urge her on. Rio didn't tire. She flew down the straight away at a blazing speed. She didn't let up even after they dashed by the wire.
Ariel eased her up and cooled her out a couple laps before riding her back to the barn. She was pleased with Rio's run. The filly would most certainly pull in some wins very, very soon.
